Condolence From: Cherie Lebrun
Condolence: My dearest friend in heaven! We both experienced a transition when I first arrived in Zanesville in 2008, and we shared some of our deepest thoughts, feelings, duo mutual performances, music, and loads of videos I did for her as a volunteer. My dearest friend was even in my Living Will to get the old 1856 Rural School House until we changed it a year ago to go to someone who needed it. We shared our dreams. She motivated me to perform again after 25 years. Cass now has a school for autism and I am so happy to hear it will continue. One of my previous students with autism adored her. We took care of each other, doctor's appointments, rides when a car broke down. I was one person she could call, and she was one whom I could call, mutual love and sharing. And yet, we were polar opposites in so many ways, me growing up with Gregorian Chant and her Gospel music we all adored, such an inspiring voice. BUT, Cass sang opera as well, classical vocal, even though the Gospel accompanied her mission in life, to serve and to praise the Lord. And our cultures were so different, Baltic, Eastern European. We grew and gained so much knowledge from our friendship. Below are all the videos I can find on You Tube I did for Cass, although the one she did for a competition for the college where she was getting her PhD is not on You Tube. The videos show a woman, not only interested in autism, but the business community, succeeding with a non-profit with a cause, helping kids with fashion shows connected with one of her wonderful sons, working with at-risk youth, and my bringing my Collie as therapy to outdoor activities with the kids. We all love you Cassandra, but we know we shall meet in heaven. Somehow for some reason, you completed your mission and are ready to move on to the vast energy of love from our almighty God, encompassing you with peace and glory. Here are some of the You Tubes of Cassandra. I tried to post photos, but my browser is old, so I don't know if they came through. When I hike in the woods now, I call out to my dearest friend, "Cass, you don't have allergies now! You can hug my farm collies over there in heaven! You can walk with me in the woods now!" We celebrated her birthday this year at a Chinese restaurant, and we celebrated her birthday last year at Gity's, whom she loved, the banquet hall near Dillon Lake. My birthday in January will be a sadder this year, but I know she is with all of us who loved her so much! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rm8sionIgE

Condolence From: Jim McLaughlin
Condolence: Cassandra and I taught music together in the Zanesville City Schools. We worked on numerous music projects together. We were great friends throughout the years. I also had the privilege to work with her children in many music adventures. What a great lady. The Zanesville community has lost a fine Christian and Civic Spirited Leader. Heaven has gained a beautiful gospel voice. Blessings to the family.
Truly,
Jim McLaughlin
