RICHARD THOMAS SPENCER
Richard Thomas Spencer was born January 31, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to William Winston Spencer and Lillian M. (English) Spencer. He departed this world unexpectedly on November 3, 2017. Richard graduated from South High School and The Ohio State University with a degree in Education. He taught and retired from Columbus City Schools. He loved teaching and cared for his students through his career. He was a member of the House of Prayer of Hope and Deliverance. Richard dedicated his life to taking care of his mother. He stayed at home with her until just a month ago, providing any and everything she wanted or needed. Even as she went to the Woodlands of Columbus, he still wanted to take care of her in every way possible. He was a quiet spirit with an incredible heart. Richard is preceded in death by his father and sister, Joan. He leaves to mourn his passing: his mother Lillian, brothers William “Butch” (Tammy) and Malcolm (Sara), sister Michelle, three aunts, two uncles, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and close friends.
