Mr. Stanley Kurt McKenzie, age 64, of Columbus, Ohio entered eternal rest on June 20, 2020.

Born in Weirton W.V. to the late Willie J. McKenzie, Sr. and Addie Mae Byrom McKenzie. He was the 4th of the 7 children born to that union. He began his formal education in Weirton, WV at Dunbar Elementary School and he graduated from Mingo High School and continued his education at Bell and Howell Institute of Technology in Columbus, Ohio. Stanley served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and was Honorably discharged.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Geoffrey (Neal) McKenzie, his father and mother in-law King Solomon and Lucille Brown, Maternal Grandparents Caleb & Leilar Byrom, his Paternal Grandparents Lawrence and Elnora McKenzie and a Daughter-In-Love Aleia Johnson.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memory the Love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Brenda McKenzie, their two children Tamisha McKenzie and Stanley McKenzie, Jr., two brothers, Malroy (Ruth) McKenzie and Willie McKenzie, Jr.; Three sisters, Angelene (Keith) Sizemore, Renee McKenzie, Valentina McKenzie; six grandchildren Teyah McKenzie, Brendan McKenzie, Raven McKenzie, Mahaley Harris, Stanley K. McKenzie III and Leiland McKenzie as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Stanley enjoyed outside activities of rollerskating, ice skating, racquetball, snowmobiling and handball. He was an outstanding fisherman who loved camping and hunting with his dad and brother Neal and he completed several 10 K runs. He also enjoyed team sports with his colleagues at the USPS where he was currently employed for over 35 years. He truly loved to dance but had two left feet and would laugh as he apologized for stepping on your toes. Stan was a kind soul with a gentle and compassionate spirit.

I worked with Stan at the Post Office.. I enjoyed working with him and seeing his big smile, he always had some wisdom to share and was very encouraging. Stan shared with me his desire to form a business with his grandson and the steps they were taking.. he was so proud, he spoke lovingly of his wife and how she made him great lunches. I will miss his friendship but will always remember a Great Black sympathy and prayers to the family 🙏🏽 Saretha McClure
