WILLIAM (“Willie”) HENRY ALLS, JR., was born on September 14, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, to the union of William H. and Ethel M. Alls. He was the first child of three children. He was blessed with 72 years of life. On October 25, 2020, he was called to eternal rest with the Lord.
On October 19, 1988, Willie was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife Theresa Howell. Willie was the proud father of two sons, from a previous marriage, William Alls and Michael Alls. He was a big brother/father figure to Ian Alls, a loving brother to his sister, Carol Alls, and a loving nephew to his Aunt Jeannie Doughty . Willie loved his family dearly.
Willie was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. During this time, he served in the Vietnam War. He was a Petty Officer Third Class, Non-commissioned Officer. During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal.
Willie is a graduate of East High School. He received his Associate Degree of Applied Science in Micro computing Technology from Columbus State University. He served as the Adult and Continuing Education Class Representative at Wilberforce University where he received his Bachelor Degree of Science in Information Technology. He received his Master Degree of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.
Willie gave his life to the Lord at an early age in life. He was a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, in Columbus, Ohio.
Willie loved writing and was the author of numerous publications and poems.
Willie was a music enthusiast. His earliest childhood memories were listening to gospel groups on the radio with his father. Since the age of twelve, he wanted to start his own gospel record company. In 1979, he started Colsound Records (Columbus Sound). His record company, Anointed Records, released a CD by Rev. Ernest Carter, Jr., & Restoration, with an updated version of Rough Side of the Mountain, featuring Columbus’ own LeMarr Scales. All songs on the CD were published by his publishing company. In 2012, in recognition of his contribution to the gospel music community in Columbus, Ohio, the Gospel Vocal Ensembles of Columbus State Community College awarded him the Columbus Gospel Legend Award.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents William H. and Ethel M. Alls, and grandson Isaiah M. Alls.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years (Theresa); sons Michael Alls and William (Vanesha) Alls; brother Ian (Janella) Alls; sister Carol Alls; step-daughters Tenia Howell and Leslie (Eric) Douglas; aunt Jeannie Doughty; mother and father in-law, Joseph and Pauline Crome; and 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins , and friends.

Although words cannot begin to express our thankfulness, we, the family of Willie Alls, express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all that have shown love and support to our family, whether through a card, telephone call, text message, email, flowers, words of comfort and prayers. Our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your kindness, sympathy, love and support. It is a blessing from the Lord to have so many wonderful, caring, and loving friends.

PLEASE READ BEFORE VISITATION... During this time of the pandemic, we understand the complexities of wanting to honor your loved one and allowing friends and relatives to show their support. While it is important to us to honor the request of a family, we must also adhere to State of Ohio mandates when it comes to public and private gatherings. The protocols Caliman Funeral Services have put in place will make it not only manageable but still allow for visitation services to be meaningful. To give those who wish to visit with the family and view their loved one we allow no more than twenty guests at a time to process into the facility. This is to sign the register book, state your condolences to the family, view your loved one and exit the building. It is our goal to make this less stressful for family and friends, maintain the integrity and honoring the family during a difficult time, and being in compliance concerning the mandates of the State of Ohio. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Caliman Funeral Services
