Obituary for Verda Ardelia O'Neal

Verda Ardelia (King) O’Neal, also affectionately known as “Punty”, was born on 09-13-1937 in Eckman, W. VA to parents Ernest and Mary King. Our Beloved Mother departed this life on April 1, 2021, after an extended illness.Verda attended school in West Virginia.She had to drop out of school while in the 9th grade to help take care of her younger siblings, while her Mother was away from home on extended illness. Verda was baptized along with her sister’s Arnethia and Ramona, at Midway Shiloh Temple, in Keystone, W. Va., by Bishop Booker T Jones Sr... Verda attended the Original Glorious of
God in Christ and Living Word Bible Fellowship Church. Verda spent most of her adult life in Columbus, Ohio, where she was married to Paul O’Neal Jr... Verda was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She was also a loving Sister and Aunt as well. She helped to raise many of her Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Neighborhood Kids, Friends of her Children and Cheryl’s Daycare Kids. Her kids all shared fond memory of Queensrowe Dr. She enjoyed many family gatherings and cookouts at her home. Verda worked at the Neil House Hotel, Federal Glass Co., Saint Steven’s Community Center, Managed Clark Gas Stations owned by her and her husband Paul,
managed Jason’s Restaurant & Lounge and Syntaxis Group Home. She has touched the lives of many people and will truly be missed.

Verda was proceeded in death by Husband Paul O’Neal, Daughter Paula Williams, Son Winslow O’Neal, Parents Ernest and Mary King, Sisters Arnethia Reavish, Ramona Tolber and Barbara Jean Mack.

Verda leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing children Sharon (Mark) Weaver, Robert (Debbie) O’Neal, Arnold (Jeanne) Aubrey, Ronald (Barbara) Aubrey, Cheryl (Bill) Foust, Robin (Alvin) Shepp, Robert (Kathy) O’Neal, Paul (Mezan) O’Neal, Kenny (Kelly) O’Neal, Winfield (Arnold Skeaton) O’Neal, Wanda (Darrell) Sealy, Dawn (Antwonne) Hunter, brothers Rudolph King and James King, sisters Sandra Mack, Sharon Hudson and Linda King-Yelder. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Verda loved family and always made people feel welcome, never met a stranger.
