Obituary for TROY BANKS Sr.

Troy Banks Sr., a resident of Columbus, Ohio passed away Thursday January 5th of this year, after a long illness. He was born to John T. and Annie Bland Banks on October 10th, 1932. He was raised in Barnesville, Georgia as one of 11 children. After relocating to Columbus, he met Amanda Lee Thompson. They were married in 1956. Their union produced two children, Sabrina and Troy Jr.

Troy Sr. was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved the Lord, and was a member of First Church of God. Fishing, gardening, working on cars and carpentry were some of his favorite things. Troy was a Jack of All Trades. If anyone needed help, all they had to do is ask, and he'd be there.

He retired from Ohio Bell, as a Fleet Supervisor, after 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Amanda, brothers John, Clarence and Bobby.

He is survived by his two children, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind sisters Thelma Davis, Grace Martin, Annie Maude Banks, along with brothers Lewis and Bennie Banks.
