Obituary for TOMMY STUBBS Sr.
Tommy Stubbs was born April 22, 1965 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to Gloria Inez Rice and Jasper Lee Henry. He departed this life August 26, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from South High School and attended Southern Ohio College. He was a man of many professions and enjoyed working with his hands. Painting, building, hanging wallpaper and cleaning were a few but what he loved most was cooking. He was a Chef for many companies but enjoyed cooking for loved ones the most.
Tommy married his first wife, Kim Craig in 1989 and from that union bore 7 children who have all preceded him in death. He was affiliated with the Christian Center Church for a period. After their divorce Tommy was remarried in 2002 to LaTonja Wright on Valentines Day. Before divorce their union bore two children, who he lovingly nicknamed “fat momma” (Ta’Niya) and “fat daddy” (Elijah) he also gained his step-daughter who he loving called “brownsugar” (Nijeria).
He always kept it moving and would often say in the kitchen “swinging hot!” or “you’re in the world and in the way!” He will surely be missed.
Preceded in death his father, Jasper Lee Henry; children, Michael Rashad Stubbs, Tommy Stubbs Jr., Thelma Angelica Stubbs, Jacob Stubbs, Brandy Stubbs, Gloria Stubbs and Kimberli Tomika Stubbs.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Gloria (Inez) Rice; daughter, Ta’Niya Stubbs; son, Elijah Stubbs; stepdaughter, Nijeria McClendon; grandchild NiQuan Milton; siblings: Linda Stubbs, Gina (Shawn) Scott, John Paul Stubbs of Columbus, OH, Jan Clark, Columbus, GA, Violet aka Lisha Stubbs and Bobby Stubbs Lawrenceville, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
