Obituary for Sloan Maria Clark

After a long, valiant and triumphant battle Sloan Maria Clark was called home on January 5th, 2021. Sloan’s final day was spent with her Mother Andrea Brisco, Father Claude Brisco and fiancé Don Harry Brown II which is exactly as she would have wanted it.

Sloan Maria Clark was born April 28th, 1981 at The Ohio State University to Andrea Brisco and Alonzo Clark Jr. Sloan attended Marion Franklin Senior High School where she received her diploma. After high school Sloan attended Fortis Where she received a degree in Medical Billing and Coding. Sloan had a career in the Health Care industry holding many different positions in her quest to help others. Sloan would obtain a second Degree later in life which only speaks to her perseverance and strength achieving two degrees in high education while battling different health ailments.

Sloan was gift given to us by God who embodied strength, genuineness and loving unconditionally. Sloan was diagnosed with diabetes at 11 years old and from that moment until her final day Sloan was battling many different health ailments but, if you spent one second with Sloan you would not have never known this. Sloan’s strength was on continual display day in and day out, if she was in a hospital bed and you walked into her room she was always trying to help and comfort you. Everyday Sloan experienced some type of pain and even in that pain she smiled, attacked each with as much effort as she had and made a point to help someone. With that strength also came a genuine personality and an unconditional love that was infectious to those in her presence. When Sloan loved you and she loved so many people, she did not expect or want anything from you and would never quit on anyone. Sloan loved hard and gave her everything to make sure those she loved knew it.

The most important thing to Sloan was her family relishing her time with her mother, father, fiancé and brother. From Mother’s Day to Christmas Day Sloan looked forward to the time with her family and would always ensure that time happened. Sloan loved her families fishing trips (even if she would not take off her own fish), camping trips and traveling with her family. Sloan made sure that every Christmas Eve night her family stayed in the same house and woke up on Christmas Day together. This time is what Sloan valued the most!

Sloan was preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel Sr. and Sophia Brisco, Uncle Samuel Lee Brisco Jr. and Cousin Sheryl Wilson.

Sloan is survived by her mother Andrea Brisco, fathers Alonzo Clark Jr. and Claude Brisco, fiancé Don Harry Brown II, Brother Travis Brisco, sisters Cyriqua and Alaysia Clark, Grandparents James and Mable Williams, Alonzo Sr. and Snobie Clark, Raymond and Elenor Long, Godmother Norma (Chris) Jones, niece Riley Brisco and mother Tawny Kosiboski, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, 5 special kids, 9 grandchildren, a godson Caleb Houchins and “Bestie” Anna Houchins.
