Obituary for Shirley Aletha Hill

Shirley Aletha Hill, age 73 went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. She was born December 19, 1946 in Mansfield, Ohio and later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she lived in the area most of her life.
Ms. Shirley was a strong and independent woman with a spunky attitude. She had a love for Syfy and scary movies but would keep the tv and nightlight on as she drifted off to sleep. She enjoyed going to the casino it was like a second home to her. Ms. Hill loved shopping for shoes, and buying every 2-piece color velour jogging outfit. Shirley loved traveling with her daughter Lori to visit the beautiful oceans. Although, she had aquaphobia and could not swim there was no place like “home sweet home.”
Shirley Aletha Hill loved being a grandmother spoiling and loving all of her grandchildren. She shared her views on how she did not like rap music; but would hum off-key to her favorite songs like “Take Me to the King.”
Ms. Hill worked many jobs throughout her life to name. She retired early as a devoted Nurse Aide for seven years at the Columbus Developmental Center for the State Department for Social Development. Shirley answered the call on September 18, 2020; and took her flight home to be with the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Proceeded in death by her parents Helen Cansler and Robert Hall and brother Frank “Butch” (Marie) Stevens Jr.
She will be missed by her two loving daughters, Lori (Ronald) Wilson, Jacqueline Williams-Beard. Her beloved siblings, Diane Talley and Wayne Stevens. Granddaughters, Shaunta (Terrance) Johnson, Tiara (George) Dawkins, Letitia Williams, and Amber Williams. Grandsons, Bretney (Latosha) Wilson and Jordan Wilson.
A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends she always cherished.
