Obituary for ROBERT ALEXANDER EGGLESTON Sr.
Robert A. Eggleston, 84, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, departed this life on the morning of March 9, 2023 following a battle with prostate cancer. Born on February 6, 1939 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Archie and Mary Lizzie Davis Eggleston. He attended New Castle High School before beginning his work life at age 18.
Robert was a loving, hard working man. He worked 27 years at Rockwell International as a maintenance technician in New Castle, PA. He then transferred to McDonnell Douglas, an aerospace company in Columbus Ohio, and worked there for 14 years. Robert made one more employment transition and ultimately retired from the Keystone Powdered Metal Company after 8 years at age 66. He enjoyed completing home improvement projects, gardening, and was a voracious reader. Robert loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a sports aficionado and especially enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Eggleston; son, Milton Asbury; daughter, Nicole Eggleston; great granddaughter, Londynn Ott; brothers James Eggleston, Leonard Eggleston, Luther Eggleston, Thomas Eggleston, and William Eggleston; and sisters Pamelia Poindexter, Chloe Lane, Phyllis Johnson, Florence Jones, and Joydice Eggleston.
