Obituary for RENE TALLEY
Rene Talley was 60 years old when he passed away on January 19th, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio. Rene was born December 8th, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York to Lendyburgh “Red” Talley and Sarah Mae Gibson. The family decided to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio in 1964. At a very young age he acquired the nick name Stokey that stuck with him throughout life. Stokey enjoyed playing little league baseball as a youngster. He was all around athlete playing football and baseball in high School. He concluded his education at Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Ohio
After high school he moved to Columbus, Ohio joining his siblings. In July of 1991 Donna White and he was blessed with his one and only child a beautiful baby girl named Reniesa Talley. Stokey enjoyed sports and loved being around family especially his brothers. He was a die-hard Browns and Ohio State football fan. Watching the Browns and grilling some food was a great day for him. He worked well with his hands and was currently employed with TS tech, where he was recently promoted.
Stokey is preceded in death by his mother Sarah Mae Gibson. He is survived by his daughter Reniesa Renee Talley and her sister, Anika Lowe; father Lendyburgh Talley (Victoria) siblings Bernard Gibson of Tuskegee, AL, Gibson Talley (Prudence), Theresa Lee (Calvin), Pamela Talley, Adrienne Adams (Kenneth), Ericka Settles (Terrence), Victor Talley and Vincent Talley, 16 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces’ and nephews. Two special cousins Charles “Stanley” Shotwell and Mike Owens and a lifelong best friend, Russell Jackson.
