Obituary for OTIS ODOM Jr.
OTIS ODOM JR., known as “Junie,” was born to Dimple and Otis Odom, Sr. on Wednesday, November 23, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio. He was raised with his four brothers, Timothy, Harvey, Lawrence, Randall, and one sister, Tracey.
Otis was a student of Pilgrim Elementary School, Champion Middle School, and East High School. In 1974, at the age of nineteen, Otis entered the United States Army, where he earned his GED and served his country for four years. Otis was a loving father of two children, a grandfather, and a great grandfather. He had a great sense of humor that always made you laugh. Otis loved each and every one of his family and would protect them at all cost.
Our beloved Otis Odom Jr. departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was sixty-six years of age. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Dimple and Otis Odom, Sr.
Loving memories are cherished by his daughter, Celeste Marie (Keith White) Carey; son, Terry James Cox; grandchildren, Cierra Carey, Dominique Carey, and Chamyra Carey; great grandchildren, Derek Walton Jr., Rhilyn Baldwin, Rhiyah Baldwin, Davontae Carey, Nylah Carey, Aubriana Carey, Majesty Cox, Mahiem Cox, and Mattisyn Cox; brothers, Timothy Odom, Harvey Odom, Lawrence Odom, and Randall (Sherri) Odom; sister, Tracey Childs; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
