Melvin W. Ellis, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed away April 21, 2020 following an extended illness.
Melvin was born March 27th 1953 to the late Charles C, and Susie (Armstead) Ellis. He attended McKinley High School, and retired after a lucrative career as a car salesman with Spitzer Chrysler Plymouth and Bobb Caldwell companies.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents,stepfather Moses Williams, Sister Ms.Sharon Ellis Bentley.
Melvin is survived by wife, Betty V. (Lewis) Ellis who was indeed the love of his life. Sons, Melvin (Kimberly) Ellis Jr.,of Cedar Hill, TX, Charles (Cassandra) Ellis Sr.,of Douglasville, GA, six grandchildren, Andrea Ellis and Charles Ellis Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Farrah Ellis of Cedar Hill, TX, Chazzlyn Ellis of Douglasville, GA, Fallan Ellis of Cedar Hill, TX, and Chae Ellis of Douglasville, GA. He is also survived by brothers: Calvin Ellis of Los Angeles, CA, Moses (Tracy) Williams of Canton, OH, Sisters: Vina “Libby” Ellis of Canton, OH, and Deborah Williams of Columbus, OH.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the healthcare workers from Mt. Carmel East Hospital Hospice, and to Ms. Stacy Carter who provided invaluable service in time of need.
