Obituary for Margaretta Vivian Worthington (Johnson)

Margaretta Vivian Johnson was born August 13, 1940 to Theodore Dewey Johnson and Clara V Johnson in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She attended Uniontown public schools and graduated from South Union High School in 1958. She later obtained a job at Volkswagen where she worked as a supervisor for more than 10 years. In 1989 Margaretta moved to Springfield, Ohio where she met Nathaniel Hawthorne. They later moved to Columbus, Ohio where Greta worked as a CNA for many years.

Margaretta Vivian Johnson Worthington (Hawthorne) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 16 th 2022. Proceeded her in death was her Mother Clara V Johnson, Father Theodore Dewey Johnson, brothers John Johnson, James Johnson, Ray Johnson, Dewey Johnson, Kenny (Cot), Carl Johnson, Artie Johnson, Homer Johnson, and sister Mary Townsend. She was the last surviving sibling of the Johnson family.

Margaretta, affectionately known as “Greta” enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She attended family reunions and would often go on cruises. She loved her family and spent time cooking and preparing meals for them.

She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved fiancé Nathaniel Hawthorne Sr., and her daughter/niece Margretta Johnson (Austin),her nephews; Warren Johnson, Lamar Johnson (Stevens), Albert Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Jr. Eric Johnson Carl Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Cory Johnson, her nieces; Nita Johnson, Jule Johnson, Tonya Johnson (Green), Christa Johnson, Kristen Johnson, and a special niece Katrina Hawthorne Payne, three sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, 2 step sons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
