Obituary

Levi Horton was born January 5,1942 in Lexington, North Carolina to Levi Parks and Claudess Matthews. John and Billie Horton raised Levi from the age of 3 years old. They resided in Fly Town and later moving to Reynoldsburg. Levi attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Reynoldsburg Public Schools. After Levi graduated he joined the Army. Shortly after being discharged, he met Lois Burk of Urbancrest. Levi fell head over heels for Lois and her huge family (10 brothers and sisters). They wed 12/12/1964, just 3 days after Lois turned 18. Levi was so handy and crafty that he made Lois’s wedding ring out of a sterling silver quarter, beating it into shape with just a spoon. He drove a forklift for Anchor Hocking in Lancaster, OH. Levi also played basketball for the company team. He worked for Anchor Hocking for many years until he had to retired due to medical reasons. Levi loved working on cars where you’d see his signature tongue hanging out his mouth and his infamous plumbers crack showing. Levi also had a passion for fishing and playing cards, especially Bid whiz. Levi was proceeded in death by both sets of his parents, brother Harry and special friend Jeffrey Smoot. Survived by wife Lois , daughters Loriell and Loletha (Clarence Womack) one grandson, Langston Levi Womack. Brothers Skip and Kenny of Virginia, Glennie of North Carolina, and Tony of Columbus, OH. Sisters, Polly of Columbus, OH. Ada (George Wilson) of North Carolina, Pumpkin and Maggie of Virginia, Betty of North Carolina, and Joyce of Maryland. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
