On March 13, 1953 Rosa Manson and Willie Gullatt Sr. welcomed Lester Gullatt into the world. He was born in Birmingham, AL residing there as a youngster until leaving and moving to Cleveland, OH with his mother. As years passed, his permanent address and home became Columbus, OH where he met Juanette Gibbs (deceased life partner) and “tried
to settle down”. Throughout his life he had various jobs, one being a meat cutter where he took pride in his work and strived to satisfy his co-workers and customers. He had the biggest smile a person would ever want to see and the sincerest heart enjoying activities such as spending time with family and friends (mainly cookouts), playing the guitar and harmonica, singing and dancing and watching old westerns; for all who knew him, he welcomed you warmly – never meeting a stranger. He was a devoted member of Calvary Holy Church bringing the spirit of love and compassion as he engaged in fellowshipping with members and the community (Calvary Cares, Men’s Ministry). Lester was out-spoken, loving, outgoing and funny (at least he thought he was).
Lester departed his life in the early morning hour on November 23, 2022. He was proceeded in death by Willie Gullatt Sr. (father), Rosa Manson (mother), Clarence Gullatt, Willie Gullatt, Emma Mobley, Patricia Moore, Elizabeth Lawson (siblings), Monique Gullatt (daughter), Isaiah Gullatt Stith (son), Lester Gullatt Jr. (son). He is survived by Albert “Moochie” Bozman (brother), Kendle Willis (sister-in-law) and children Shinelle Wingfield, Sabrina Lewis, Nakia Richerson, Latrina Lewis, Lester Gullatt, Sir Brandon Stith, Yeva Mitchell (Joseph Mitchell) and Aisha Stith, where his memories will be cherished and treasured. He has a host of gracious grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him deeply.
