Kathryn "Kat" Ridgeway was born march 18,1959 in Columbus, Ohio to Wilson and Sarah Hazel (Bush) Callahan. Kathryn graduated from East High School. After high school, Kathryn was employed at an Ohio Job Agency as a Clerk/Telephone Operator in 1988-1989. In 1990-1993, Kathy was employed at Vista as a Literacy Coordinator. After working there for 3 years she moved up working at job and family services from 1993-2005. Kathy enjoyed family, friends, dancing, cookouts, dressing up, & any type of entertainment. She loved getting her lashes done, buying new wigs, and riding the “kat mobile”. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Sarah Callahan; sister, Denise Callahan and brother, Clifton Callahan. She is survived by her husband, Louis Ridgeway; son, Kirby Wilkerson; sisters, Julia Reid, Annelia Suber & Cheeoni Hampton of Atlanta Georgia; brother, Wilson Callahan Hatcher of Atlanta Georgia; nieces, La’Nise (Antonio) Callahan, Kristin (Kentwan) Glass, Carletta Callahan and Sarah Callahan; nephew, Shannon (Katie) Suber; special granddaughter, Kirnaisha Wilkerson; grandson, Trey Mathis; an host of great nieces and nephews; In-laws: Dorothy (Alonzo) James, Brenda (John) Ward, Jacqueline (Dallas) Mathews, Johnny, Larry and Steven Ridgeway; daughter-in-law Sophia (Philip) Johnson; best friends: Vivian Hopkins, Cynthia Walker, and Sheila Grimes; special friend, Ethel Edwards; and special daughter-in-law, Aishia Hammond.
