Obituary for Juanita Gertrude Manogaran

Juanita Freeland Manogaran, affectionately known as: "Tissie", "Memaw" and "Mama Tupac". Juanita had a very special relationship with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. She was kind, witty, funny, direct and so very smart.She got the nickname "Tissie" because her siblings could not say Juanita. "Mama Tupac" came about from her love of the rapper, Tupac Shakur.

Born May 31, 1946 as the 3rd child of Norma and Ollie Beatty, raised in Worthington, Ohio. Juanita was an exceptional artist and great writer. She loved to read and always had a book nearby. She always gave the best advice and didn't bite her tongue, you knew exactly what she thought. As a child Juanita was good at track, the high jump and fifty yard hurdles. As a child she was known as athletic and shy. Her childhood dream was to become a professional dancer. She was married after high school on November 23, 1963 and gave birth to 3 beautiful daughters. She would later have another daughter and also a son. Her first job was at Western Electric. She worked as a correctional officer for the State of Ohio for 22 1/2 years. She retired in January of 2018. Her favorite place was Hoover Dam.

Preceded in death by her grandparents Forrest and Ada Thompson, Her parents Ollie and Norma Beatty, her brother Forrest Beatty and her daughter April Y. Young.

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Valerie, Sonya and Angela and son Jason. Grandchildren: Unique Martin (Dewan), Xavier, Dominique, Sergio, Kastaisja (Cameron) and Khari. Great grandchildren: Destiny, Harlem, Syniah, Xavier Jr., Taylen, Kassidy, Kai,and Kaleb. Her sister Ada Stragand and niece Hope Laney, Her brother John (Marty) Beatty and brother Oliver “Squeak” Beatty and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
