Obituary for JUAN RICARDO ANGEL Sr.

Juan Ricardo Angel, Sr., was born to Kenneth Angel and the late Norma Jean-Ross in Columbus, OH, on June 29, 1957. He was their first child. Juan was blessed with a large and loving family. Juan attended Marion-Franklin High School where he excelled as a track athlete. After graduation, he enlisted in the United State Marines Corp in Memphis, TN, in August 1974. There he continued to excel in track and maintained the Marines core values of honor, courage, and commitment before being honorably discharged. Juan decided to pursue other opportunities after moving back to Columbus, OH, and eventually opened the Black-Tie Limousine Service which served a multitude of celebrities like L.L. Cool J, Patti Labelle, and Magic Johnson. When they would arrive in Columbus for concerts, sporting events, and meet-and-greet events, Black-Tie Limousine service was ready for their chauffeuring needs. In his later years, Juan worked for the Columbus Dispatch as a district manager where he became immersed again in the Columbus community and received multiple awards for his work and accomplishments. Juan loved to travel and even spent a few years as a resident of Lexington, KY.

Juan was charismatic at heart and could brighten a room when he stepped in. He was well-rounded in life experiences and was always available to provide advice, answer a question, or solve a problem, no matter how large or small. And he didn’t mind calling corporate when necessary.

Juan had long and fulfilling relationships over his lifetime. He started a fresh relationship by accepting Jesus Christ and getting baptized at New Jerusalem Church in 2013 and then marrying his longtime friend, Donna Jefferson, on Sept. 4, 2015. Juan passed away peacefully on Friday Morning August 12, 2022. Truly, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
