Obituary for JoAnn Edwards

JOANN EDWARDS was born on August 29, 1950, in Gastonia, North Carolina, to the proud parents of Joseph and Pauline Crome. She was the first child of nine children. In 1953, the family relocated to Columbus, Ohio. JoAnn was blessed with 69 years of life, and at her home on June 22, 2020, she was called to eternal rest in the Lord.
JoAnn attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from East High School in 1969.
She worked in banking, and retired from Fifth Third Bank in 2015. Although retiring due to her illness, she served at her church in hospitality as often as she could.
JoAnn accepted Christ in her life at the age of eight years while attending Apostolic Holy Temple under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Mary Starks. In later years, she was a devoted member and worshiper at Greater Life Evangelistic Temple under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Quander L. Wilson and Bishop Edward E. Shouse. At the time of her death, she was an active member at The Potters House under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Tim Oldfield. She loved the Lord, loved her church, and loved her work in Kingdom building.
JoAnn was a dedicated mother who poured herself into the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her brother Luther Crome.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Joseph and Pauline Crome; children Martin L. (Sharonda) Crome and Christina (Gregory) Hutchins; grandchildren, Darien (Alissa) Crome; DeRon Crome; Daelyn Crome; and Ayden Hutchins; great grandchildren, Niomi, Sebastian, and Isabel Crome; brothers Theodore (Regina) Crome; Timothy (Sheri) Crome, Daniel (Julie) Crome; sisters Theresa (Willie) Alls, Joyce Sutton, Dorothy Crome, Ann (Kevin) Crome; her special aunt Betty Williams; her lifelong friends Shirley Taylor, Carolyn Rainey, and Albina Rice; her honorary son Bishop Stephen White; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends.
