James Roy Washington, Jr. passed away on October 24, 2019. He was born November 13, 1940 in Carbondale, West Virginia to James R. and Hattie Washington.
James was a graduate from Montgomery High School in Montgomery, West Virginia. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. James retired in 2005 from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections with 24 years of service and he was an outstanding correction officer. He also served as an honor guard during his corrections career.
James married his loving and devoted wife, Lena on February 14, 1997 and they celebrated 22 years of marriage.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching western movies and playing cards.
Preceded in death; mother, Hattie Virginia Washington; father, James Roy Washington, Sr.; sister, Cora Mae Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Lena; son, Jeffrey Washington and daughter, Nicole Washington, stepson, Gregory Shabazz; stepdaughters; Sandra (Glenn) Meadows, Kimberly Madison and Christina (Kenny) Crump. Also to cherish his memory, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His siblings; brothers, Leonard S. Washington, David Glenn (Vernice) Washington, Lonnie Joe (Louann) Washington and Robert Lee Washington all of Columbus, Ohio. sisters, Flora Daniels, Columbus, Ohio, Bonita Johnson, Linda Bohanna of West Virginia.
