Obituary for HAYES TAYLOR

Hayes Taylor peacefully went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2020. He was born October 17, 1955 to the late Delores (Hayes) Taylor and the late Earl Taylor Sr in East Liverpool, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Earl Taylor Jr., sister Mary F. Taylor, and nephew Guy Taylor Jr.

After graduating from East Liverpool High School in 1974, Hayes went on to pursue his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. He received his law degree in 1981 before serving his community as the Assistant Law Director for the City of East Liverpool, Ohio. From his
experience in this role, at the age of 27 he was elected to Law Director for the City of East Liverpool, Ohio. From 1987 to 2003 Hayes was Vice President, President, and General Manager of Mountaineer Park in Chester, W.V., Finger Lakes Racetrack in Rochester, N.Y., and Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, W.V.

Hayes was an active member of New Antioch Bible Fellowship in Reynoldsburg, Ohio where he served on the usher board. He was baptized with his son, Stephen in 2005.

Hayes is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marva (Carter) Taylor, two daughters Rachel Taylor and Carmen (Tre) Gammage, and son Stephen Taylor, two brothers Guy Taylor Sr, and Nelson Taylor, three sisters Whitney Taylor-Washington, Vernie Williams, and Barbara Harshaw, and a host of loving nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
