Franklin C. Thompson, age 64, passed peacefully on June 16, 2020 at Grant Medical Center.
Frankie was a musician and left the city of Columbus to pursue his musical career with the Bar-Kays as the a trombone player, songwriter and producer. He also played with such bands as Cameo, Sly and the Family Stone and Bobby Watson.
Preceded in death by his father, Raymond C. Thompson; mother, Marion Ruth Thompson; aunt, Olga (Lawrence) Thompson Jackson; brothers, Roland Thompson and Leslie Collier. Survived by his brother, Paul "Satch" Thompson; sister, Ina T. Slide; daughter, Candyce Thompson; son, Diego Lowery; special friend of over 20 plus years, Pam Wright; beloved brothers, Troy Jones, Lawrence High and Neal Cobb; and a host of grandchildren, family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery on Thursday, June 25th at 10:00 am.
