Passed away on Monday July 22,2019 at Mt Carmel East Hospital after an illness.
Dovie Lois Gilstrap was born July 20, 1939 in East St. Louis Illinois to the parents of Robert & Cara Gilstrap. Graduate Hugh Quinn High School She retired after 27 years at AVI food systems of Warren Ohio.
Dovie will be welcomed home by those who preceded her in death mother and father, Robert & Clara Gilstrap; sisters, Leatha Lockett and Hattie Mae Alexander; brothers, Jim and Jerome Brandon and Louis and Ernest Gilstrap; son, Arduster Cameron Jr; and grandson, Victor Mims.
Dovie leaves behind brother, Robert Gilstrap of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Marva Donald of Columbus, Ohio, Laura (Clossie) Pearce of Crowley, Texas, and Vicky Cameron of Columbus, Ohio; sons Marvin Brown.Jr of Warren, Ohio, Ricky (Diane) Cameron of Arlington, Texas, and Jonathan Cameron, Sr. of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special THANKS to her companion of 40 years Joe E Turner of Warren,OH who stood with Dovie until the end.
Dovie Gilstrap enjoyed reading, dancing, traveling, shopping in her daughters closet (LOL), scary movies, Pepsi‘s and lots of sweets. She was also also had a Great sense of humor, loved to tell jokes and a very kind but very strong determined Woman!
Our Mother will be deeply miss but within our hearts she’ll never really be gone, Now I ask everyone to take a minute and remember the funniest thing Dovie did or said..…..
