Dianne Gwendolyn Gordan Wells, who fought and won her case was called into the glory of God’s kingdom on February 21, 2020 surely heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of the Lord.” Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
Dianne was born on February 1, 1935 to James and Virginia Gordan in Pulaski, Virginia. As the oldest of seven children it was an exciting and teaching time. She carried with her a thirst for knowledge as she pursued her education in Washington, DC. While in Washington, DC she met and fell in love with Joseph Albert Wells. They married on May 20, 1951. Sixty-eight years of love and devotion produced a home of love and nurture for their six children.
Dianne tirelessly poured all of her spirit into her family, friends and church. Her passion for teaching was seen in her discipleship and ministry at the Trinity Baptist Church. At Trinity she served as a Deaconess, leader of the Nursery Department for Church and Vacation Bible School. Every child’s life she taught was instilled with the knowledge of Christ, which was a testament of her loving spirit. She will be remembered for her love for the family, the church and her famous pound cakes.
In addition to her parents preceding her in death are son, James Wells; sisters, Hilda Alexandra and Marion Harvey.
Her family is a true testament to her legacy, heart and soul. Each member was cherished,
prayed for and loved not only by her words, but actions.
