Obituary for Debra Sabrina Foggie

Debra Sabrina Foggie was born in Brooklyn, New York to Elvren and Margie (DeWitt) Talley June 11th, 1955. She resided in the Columbus area for most her life where she worked, she raised her children, and met many friends. Debra always had a heart to serve families as she ran her own daycare business for 10 years and later worked extensively with the disabled community.
Debra was a strong woman of faith. She attended the First Church of God, led by Bishop Timothy J. Clarke. Debra had a wonderful testimony that she loved to share. She mentored and helped bring several women to know Christ. Debra’s faith has been tested over the past several years with major heart health challenges that resulted in numerous surgeries, eventually leading to a heart transplant 2018. Despite these challenges, her faith remained strong and her spirit at peace. Debra never allowed her challenges to hinder her relationships with others or her walk with God. In fact, she would often say, “God holds you accountable for how you treat people, not how people treat you”. Debra cherished life and continued to enjoy music, singing, fashion/shopping, working on her garden and spending time with family and friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Elvren and Margie (DeWitt) Talley; her son, Anthony Thompson; and grandson, Jamel Carols. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 19 years, Karl Foggie Sr.; children, El Talley (Tia), Dante Talley (Christel), Michael Thompson (Shakeedra), Tiffany Thompson, Carolyn Thompson, Timothy Thompson (Divina), Maryann Thompson, Karla Foggie Franklin, Aesha James, Karl Foggie Jr., Justin Foggie, and daughter in law, Amy Sanchez Thompson (Anthony); brother, Elvren Talley Jr. (Swayzene); sister, Bettye Wells (Reggie); 25 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
