Dawaun D. Lewis-Taylor was born on January 14th 2005 to Dashaundra L. Lewis and Tarail D. Taylor. Dawaun was the oldest of his five siblings, and he loved them all dearly.
Dawaun began his school education at Harambe Christian school, Miillennium Middle and lastly attended Eastbridge Academey. Dawaun, loved to Rap, dance and make music just as his late mother who was known to many in the city as Lady Dee. He also loved playing football and basketball, but he had a greater strong desire for the sport of basketball. He played this sport throughout middle and high school. One of the greatest memories for Dawaun was having the privileged to meet his hero Blake Griffin and Chris Paul both of the LA ClIppers. In Dawaun younger days he was given another privilege of being trained in boxing by the 1990 Heavy Weight Champion of the world James Buster Douglas, through the Thompson Recreation Center younth program. Dawaun was a very strong and a hard worker, he loved o helping others in a time of need. Dawaun was employed by Pigs In The City, a company owned and operated by his grandfather ,which he enjoyed being apart of. Dawaun, was a loving individual with a big heart he could always find a way to keep a smile on your face and joy in your heart.
Dawaun, was dedicated to the Lord, December of 2005. He personally accepted Christ and was baptized on March 19th, 2016 by his grandfather Pastor Litt R. Howard Jr. Dawaun was a member of United Word Ministry, and will be truly missed by those who loved him. Dawaun departed this life on September 29th, 2020 and was proceeded in death, by his mother Dashaundra L. Lewis, grandmother Terrie Saunders, grandfather Ricky Taylor Sr; Great-grand parents: Charlotte & Lewis Carter, great- grandfather Litt R. Howard Sr. Dawaun, survived by grandparents Litt Ross Jr & Toni Howard. He leaves Father Tarail Taylor, and grandmother Pamela Lewis, special father Davado Sanders. and great-grandmother Patricia Smith. SpecIal grandparents: Davena Sander & Great Mama Arlene, and Charlotte and Donald Swayne. He also leaves his five sibling’s; Da’vier Lewis, Day’ren Lewis, Darren Lewis, sister’s; Day’zire Lewis and Da’Raiha Taylor, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
