Obituary for COREY ALAN DAVIS Sr.

Corey Alan Davis, Sr was born on April 17, 1981 in Detroit, Michigan to the union of Adriann and Robert Davis, Jr as the youngest of three children. He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools, graduating from Cass Technical School in 1999. He soon moved to Columbus, Ohio to continue his education. Corey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information from DeVry University and his Master of Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Following graduation, Corey created a loving life in Columbus, Ohio where he met and married Cassandra Norman in 2004. From this 18-year union were born three children, Corey Jr., Cameron, and Candace. One of the staples in Corey's life besides his family was his church family, Greater Christ Temple Apostolic, where he joined in fellowship in 2003, and became an active member, serving on the Board of Directors as the Chief Operating Officer for approximately 15 years; he was a part of the Ministerial Alliance after his call to teach God's Word for approximately 11 years, and was very active in the Christian Education Department teaching the Young Adult Sunday School Class periodically. Additionally, Corey served as the Brotherhood Treasurer and Activities Coordinator for approximately 12 years making sure that the brothers with their sons, nephews, and other male youth were given the opportunity to retreat every year to a place that he had chosen and secured. But Corey's expertise did not stop on the local level. He faithfully served as the Ohio District Council State Treasurer for 2 terms.

Corey had amazing culinary skills and could be counted on to be the one to volunteer anytime there was "cooking" to be done. Besides his culinary skills, he was an avid bowler, skills he received from his mother. Despite making his home in Columbus, Ohio for the past 23 years, Corey remained a faithful and serious fan of the University of Michigan Athletics, especially the football program.

Corey was employed at American Electric Power in IT where he most recently held the leadership role of Scrum Master.

Corey was preceded in death by his mother, Adriann and brother, Robert Anthony and leaves to cherish his memory, Cassandra along with children, Corey, Jr, Cameron, and Candace; father, Robert Jr; sister, Camille; niece, Corelle; nephew, Kendall; and great-nephew, Jaiden, all of Douglasville, Georgia. In addition, he leaves his aunt, Mary Lewis; and great-aunt, Thelma Rush of Detroit along with a host of extended family and lifelong friends.
