Bruce Albert Howell entered this life on June 25, 1963 to Francis A. Howell and Marianne Lockett in Columbus, OH. Bruce graduated from Central High School in 1981 and went on to get his Bachelor of Computer Science Degree from Bowling Green State University in 1985. Bruce pledged the Zeta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. April 15, 1982 while attending Bowling Green. Bruce accepted the Lord at an early age and he and the Lord had a “special” relationship. Bruce married the love of his life Dietra Weaver on November 19, 1988. To this union were born, Danielle Alise and Bruce Allen.

Bruce has held positions with Franklin County Engineer and MAPSYS, Inc. However, Bruce loved his position as IT Manager at Clark Grave Vault Co. where he worked for almost 30 years prior to his retirement in 2019. Bruce continued as a contractor for Clark until his departure from this life. Bruce was a dedicated Brother of the Columbus Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He loved golf, bowling and enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas Cowboys and The Ohio State Buckeyes. His other past times were traveling with his wife, Dietra, his daughter, Danielle and friends. Music was always part of his life and learning to play the guitar by ear was a gift definitely given to him by God.

Bruce never met a stranger, ever! And he loved people and people loved Bruce! You always left his presence in a better mood and a smile on your face. His family were his pride and joy and any time that he could spend with them and his friends absolutely gave him great happiness.

Bruce battled a short illness and on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 he couldn’t fight any longer and took his eternal rest. Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Marianne Lockett, his grandfather, William “Pop” Howell, his brother, Alphonso West, his mother-in-law, Laura Liggins, brother in law, Derrick Weaver and uncle, Franklin A. Howell. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years Dietra; daughter, Danielle and son, Bruce. His father, Francis and mother, Joann Howell; grandmother Iris T.
