Obituary for BAIRD CONWAY McCARTY

Baird Conway McCarty was born on Thursday, March 3, 1966, to loving parents Willie James and Lena McCarty. On Sunday, September 15, 2019, Baird passed away at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Baird was born in Jackson, Mississippi and attended Jackson Public Schools. In his early years, he attended Blair St. Methodist Church. Baird was united in holy matrimony to Angela Reece on August 26, 2014 and to their union was born one child, David.

Baird was an “old soul in a young body.” He started driving and working at an early age. One of his dreams was to drive trucks, so for better opportunities, he left Mississippi in 1989 and moved to Columbus, Ohio. He was very skilled and talented so he worked jobs in many capacities such as truck driver, chef, and construction worker,
in which he was last employed with Knollman Construction LLC. His greatest passion though and what he was most known for was his delicious cooking, especially grilled meats. He even tried his hand at opening a food truck and a restaurant. He never stopped
pursuing his dreams.

Baird or “Bob” as he was called by most family, was a fun, loving, and humorous person. He knew how to make you laugh with his crazy antics and jokes. One of his strongest qualities was helping others. Being generous in spirit, he tried to lend a helping hand whenever and
wherever he could. It is very fitting that his last hours were spent in that manner. In the words of an old familiar hymn,“If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.”

Baird was preceded in death by his father, Willie James McCarty, mother, Lena J. McCarty, and sister Carol Ann McCarty Beard. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Angela Y. McCarty, children, Melanie Teague, Quinton Fudge, Demetrius Fudge, David
McCarty, Shavonne R. McCloud, and Marcus A. McCloud, grandchildren, Quinton Fudge Jr., Taniyah Fudge and Amari R. McCloud, siblings, Gregory Hill (Doris), Janith Hunt, James McCarty, Constine McCarty (Teresa), Johann McCarty and many relatives and friends.
