Obituary for ROBERT HOWARD PRICE Sr.

ROBERT HOWARD PRICE Sr.
Robert Howard Price Sr., born in Memphis, TN to James and Lizzie Cristwell Price, on March 16, 1938, succumbed to Esophageal cancer on July 7, 2018, at the age of 80 with his eldest son lovingly by his side. Robert Sr. is survived by his two sons, Robert (fiancé Virginia) Price Jr., and Reginald (Aneda) Price, five grandchildren, Adrienne Price (Chicago), Latashia (Kevin) Tooks (Tampa), Marisa Price (Columbus), Michael Price (Orlando), Robert Price III (Columbus) and two great-grandchildren, Keyona and Kailah Tooks (Tampa). Robert Sr. was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and an amazing friend to anyone who had the privilege of making his acquaintance. Robert Sr. retired, after 20 years, from the United States Air Force as a Flight Line Aircraft Maintenance Technician on B-52 bombers, faithfully serving on air bases in Puerto Rico, North Dakota, Dover/Delaware, Lockbourne/Rickenbacker and at the Utapao Air Base in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He also retired, after another 20 years, from the Worthington-based GE Superabrasives Unit, manufacturing diamonds for industrial applications requiring cutting and drilling, as a diamond press foreman. He spent his free time listening to some serious Jazz and Soul music, doing crossword puzzles, watching Golf, following the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns, and he truly enjoyed and never missed any episodes of his favorite TV soap operas. He was known to some as a man with a stern external façade when he truly had a warm internal heart for everyone he loved and met. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Metropolitan Family Center and Mount Carmel East Hospital for their loving care and support throughout all the physical challenges that he fought and won, as well as during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Caliman Funeral Services for making the process easy and the family at the First Baptist Church for watching over him and being very accommodating and comforting during this difficult time.
